PAM Jaya Accelerates Handling of Leaking Pipes Affected by JSDP Project

PAM Jaya has conducted a direct inspection of the 800-millimeter diameter pipe leak on Jalan M.I. Ridwan Rais, Gambir, Central Jakarta, which was affected by the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) work.

PAM Jaya's Director, Arief Nasrudin, explained that the leak occurred due to JSDP project activities that affected PAM Jaya's main pipeline network.

"The contractor inspected and hit our 800 mm pipe, causing a significant leak that needs to be repaired immediately. Our entire team is currently conducting water engineering, and we need a maximum of two days to complete the repair," he said, Tuesday (7/21).

He added that PAM Jaya is implementing water distribution management to maintain service during the recovery process. Customers are expected to experience only a decrease in water pressure or reduced water supply, but not a complete interruption of service.

"The water supply reduction is not too much, activities can still be carried out and it does not disrupt the water needs of customers," he admitted.

He continued that the party is making every effort to ensure that water distribution continues to flow during the repair process, even though the water supply will certainly be slightly reduced.

PAM Jaya continues to coordinate intensively with relevant parties, including project implementers, to expedite the repair process while minimizing the impact on the pipeline network and services to the public.

"We urge the public to remain calm and apologize for any inconvenience caused during the handling process," he appealed.

As for information, repair work is scheduled to take place from Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10 PM to Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 4 AM. Water supply is expected to gradually return to normal starting Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 10 AM.

Areas that are potentially affected include Ancol, Cideng, Duri Pulo, Gambir, Glodok, Karang Anyar, Kartini, Keagungan, Kebon Kelapa, Krukut, Maphar, Mangga Besar, Mangga Dua Selatan, Pasar Baru, Penjaringan, Petojo Selatan, Petojo Utara, Pinangsia, Tambora, Taman Sari, and Tangki.
